Whiterose - Friday 16 March 2012

Kevin and Dougie both hail from the Falkirk and have many years of folk singing behind them.

In recent years, they have become a very accomplished Scottish and Irish Folk Duo after a number of years travelling with other bands.

The name 'Whiterose' is taken from the White Rose of Alba, or the Jacobite Rose, which is the Rosa Alba Maximus and is a double white rose.

In 2009, Whiterose were invited to perform at the Homecoming Clan Gathering 2009, at Edinburgh, where they played to rapturous applause before 30,000 visitors.

Their first CD, 'Caledonia, My Home' was a sell out and the second, 'The Auld Scots Tongue' looks like doing the same.

Stephen Quigg and Nick Keir - Friday 8 June 2012

Stephen Quigg has long since established himself on the Scottish folk scene and after more than thirty years of singing, he is still dedicated to the music and the songs of Scotland. Stephen, also a former member of The McCalmans accompanies himself on guitar and bodhran (occasionally also the banjo when he remembers to bring it) and with an outstanding voice, you can watch him capture the attention of any audience.

Nick Keir joined The McCalmans in 1982 when Hamish Bayne left the band and worked with them for 28 years. Away from the Macs Nick has produced 3 well-received solo CDs and toured extensively with The Tolkien Ensemble, appearing with screen legend Christopher Lee. He is also a member of the Holbaek Ensemble in Denmark playing an exciting mix of Scots and Irish Traditional music laced with the Baroque of Correlli and Vivaldi.

Crooked Jack - Friday 21 September 2012

Dennis Alexander & David VernonScottish entertainment is well served by these two excellent performers. The classic Scottish songs are served up with outstanding accordion playing all tied together in a neat package with some hilarious banter.

David and Dennis don´t just stick to one style. Mainly they play "In Concert" or for Ceilidh Dancing

In concert, they have played to the great and the good of the land, at large functions and small intimate gatherings. The songs are well chosen to reflect the audience and laughter is always an important ingredient. And even if you are indifferent to the accordion, you will be enthused by David´s extraordinary ability on the instrument.

Successful trips to Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Middle and Far East both in the current line up and with former bands, has further enriched their experience underlining their commitment to being Ambassadors of Scottish Music.
